We are all too familiar with muscle aches and pains, so we don’t usually get too worked up about them. Instead, we write them off as the price we pay for our crazy active lifestyles, head to the infrared sauna or massage therapist, and go on about our lives. But recently when my overworked shoulder wasn’t responding to any of my usual modes of recovery, a client sent me a care package from Basic Jane filled with Relieve Gel, Relieve Cream, and essential oils. At this point I was ready to try anything, so I gave it a shot—and experienced almost instant relief. After just a few more days of use I had much less discomfort, and my full range of motion was back.
I was curious about why these products worked so well, so I did a little digging and discovered that these plant-based products derive their magic from one miracle ingredient---the Cannabis Sativa plant. You may know it by its more common name, hemp, or it’s street name--- “pot.” However, just because hemp and marijuana both come from the same plant, that doesn’t mean that they are alike.
Turns out that hemp contains only trace amounts of THC and is heavy on CBD. Why does that matter? In simple terms, THC is dominant in marijuana---which is why you get a “high” from smoking it. CBD does not produce the same results. What it does produce is relief from chronic pain, inflammation, and more, which is why companies like Basic Jane use it in their formulations.
Although it may not produce a high, that doesn’t mean that Basic Jane isn’t addictive. I use it regularly to keep those aches and pains under control. Check it out at www.basicjane.com.
