I should preface this post with the fact that I am the person those “As Seen On TV” products and middle of the night infomercials are geared towards. I am a total sucker for the latest and greatest product on the Gram or my Facebook Feed. If it promises to make my eyelashes longer, my lips fuller, my neck firmer…..or turn out a perfectly hard boiled egg in the microwave-- I’m sold. Sadly, most of these impulse purchases wind up in my cosmetic graveyard or kitchen junk drawer because they didn’t live up to the hype. So when I saw this Rockin’ Green Active Wear detergent that promised to breathe new life into my Lulu, I was skeptical---I had tried other brands from high end retailers that were specifically designed for my workout clothes and other delicates and I couldn’t tell any difference. But then a fellow instructor told me she swore by it…..sooooo…..add to cart!
My workout clothes work hard—and I take care of them. I wash them in cold, hang them to dry, and spray them down in my gym bag if I can’t get them to the washer right away. But even with my best efforts, there are a few pieces that aren’t looking or smelling as good as they used to so I threw them all into my laundry room sink, filled it with cold water, added three scoops of this “miracle” powder and set my watch for one hour. When I took them out, the water was gray—seriously. And some of these clothes were “clean” when they went in! The next step was to put them in the washer WITHOUT detergent and run it through one cycle. When I took them out, the difference was immediately apparent—even before they dried. They looked brighter, and smelled clean—not “perfumy”—just clean. I’m hooked!
While I chose to soak mine for the first time, you don’t have to. You can use the powder in your washing machine—even the HE models. Plus it’s vegan and cruelty free—added bonus! Check it out and let us know what you think!
