As a child of the 80s, I love anything that reminds me of that colorful era when clothes were bright, hair was big, and girls just wanted to have fun. So you can imagine my excitement at discovering GoodR Running Sunglasses, a “totally awesome” new line at Fleet Feet Sports.
Designed in the iconic wayfarer a la Tom Cruise “Risky Business” style, these sassy shades come in a rainbow of fun hues with cheeky names like the lemon yellow “Walking on Sunshine” and (my personal favorite) the bright pink “Nobody Puts Baby In A Corner.”
But don’t let the crazy colors and kitschy names fool you. These are sunglasses designed for the serious runner—who doesn’t take himself too seriously! They feature polarized lenses for a reduced glare, and a no bounce, no slip construction that keeps them firmly in place regardless of how much you move or sweat. The best part? They are $25 (no that’s not a typo). As someone who constantly misplaces her sunnies (and phone, and keys, and….) that price makes it easy to justify buying a pair and a few spares.
I recently put mine to the test through a six mile run in the Texas heat and found that not only were they light and comfortable, they lived up to the hype, never once sliding down my slippery nose. They performed equally well on a long distance bike ride.
Check ‘em out at Fleet Feet but hurry because at $25 they sell out faster than you can say, “I want my MTV.”
