APL: The Intersection of Performance & Luxury

I'll be the first to admit that I have an addiction to luxury sports brands. I believe you get what you pay for and if it's going to affect my body and its performance, I want the best. My interest lately is athletic footwear. I enjoy shoes that are both functional and fashionable, allowing me to share some of my personal flair and style through the design.

For the past few months I've been curious about the APL brand that I spotted on the Lululemon website. What intrigued me is why Lululemon would sell a brand that wasn't their own. I figured it must be an incredible shoe, but at a price point of over $200 I didn't want to take a chance and order a new brand that I couldn't try on first----and none of the Lululemon stores in San Antonio carried them.

During the holidays however, Lululemon ran an online sale and I was able to grab a pair of the $250 "TechLoom Pro Cashmere Fatigue" shoes for $60, I quickly hit "add to cart."

The first thing I noticed about my new shoes was how light and compact they are, which makes them great for traveling. One important note: this particular shoe is not intended for running or lifting. It is strictly a lifestyle shoe, which means it's designed for walking and going about your business around town.

The next thing that impressed me was how comfortable they are. After wearing them for a while I forgot I had them on.

My one criticism of the APL shoes is the high price tag. Other than being made of cashmere this shoe's design is basic and doesn't warrant the cost in my opinion. However, they offer other more interesting and unique models that I could justify spending the money on.

Overall I'm happy with my purchase and I'm excited to learn more about the brand. They have a large selection of different shoes and accessories for men and women, so I'm sure you'll find a pair that speaks to you too.
